It’s almost time to decorate for autumn. With the exception of Christmas, fall is my favorite season to decorate for. All the colors, textures, and smells make it a lovely time of year. With this crochet fall basket, you can have all three. Use the colors that remind you most of the season. Bobbles give it an interesting texture. Fill it with your favorite decorations, pumpkins, gourds, acorns, leaves. Sneak in a small pumpkin scented candle to complete the ambiance.

#6 super bulky yarn, I used Bernat Softee Chunky in “Redwood” and “Soft Taupe” @60 yards

K (6.5 mm) hook

Needle for weaving ends

Size:

6′ diameter

Abbreviations Used: {US Terms}

MC=main color

CC=contrasting color

ch=chain

dc=double crochet

BL=back loops

sc=single crochet

BO=bobble

sl st=slip st

yo=yarn over

rnd=round

Notes:

• Ch 3 does not count as a stitch
• Ch 1 does not count as a stitch
• This pattern is worked in the round.

Special Stitch:

BO {Bobble Stitch} yo, insert hook in stitch, yo, draw loop through stitch, yo, pull through 2 loops, repeat this in same stitch until you have 6 loops on your hook, yo, pull through all 6 loops

Crochet Fall Basket

Rnd 1: With MC, Using magic circle, ch 3, 12 dc in circle, sl st with invisible join [12]

Rnd 2: Using BL only, ch 3, 2 dc in each st around, join as before [24]

Rnd 3: Using BL only, ch 3, dc next st, 2 dc next st around, join [36]

Rnd 4: Using BL only, ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st around, join [48}

Rnd 5: Now working in both loops, ch 1, sc next st, BO next st, around, join

Rnd 6: ch 1, BO next st, sc next st, around, end with sc, join

Rnd 7: ch 1, sc next st, BO next st around, end with sc, join changing to CC

Rnds 8-9: Using BL only, sc in each st around. At end of Rnd 9, Fasten off. Weave in end.
