Crochet Beanie Free Crochet Pattern

A crochet beanie is a must have in your handmade wardrobe. Not only does it keep your head warm on the coldest of days, it’s a fashion accessory. The color, and Pom Pom that becomes the finishing touch, shows off your personality, and your sense of style. When you make one to give away so someone else may enjoy the warmth, it’s a much more joyful experience.

The Glacier Ridge Beanie is the 4th installment in my Glacier Ridge Collection, which also includes a cowl, ear warmer, and fingerless gloves. This beanie was made specifically for the Crochet Cancer Challenge 2021 hosted by Sweet Potato 3.

Crochet Cancer Challenge 2021

Each day in the month of October, you will be able to download a hat from each designer for free with the pledge you will make one to donate to a person with cancer. Each designer has chosen a color for their beanie in support of a particular cancer or all cancers in general. Head to the main blog post at SWEET POTATO 3 each day to see the featured hat.

My Crochet Beanie

For my hat, I chose the color teal for ovarian/cervical cancer in honor of my sister. When she got the diagnosis, she was terrified, as so many others are as well. She lived too far away for me to give her a physical hug, but my thoughts and good vibes were always with her. Thankfully, she is now cancer free, but with a price. A complete hysterectomy was performed to eradicate all the cancer. My Glacier Ridge Beanie was featured on October 2, 2021 in support of my sister and others battling this monstrous disease.
