Crochet Leaf Square Free Pattern

This crochet leaf square would be the perfect addition to a fall inspired throw. Make each square in the colors of autumn. Shades of green and creams would make a beautiful spring blanket. Wall hanging, table runner, and pillows are also options. The raised design is created by the proper placemat of treble front post worked two rows below. It is a quick and easy pattern.

Materials needed for the crochet leaf square

#4 worsted weight {80 yds} I used Caron One Pound from Joann’s

US G hook {4 mm} Furls hooks are my favorites

Tapestry Needle

14 dc x 8 rows=4”

TrFP=treble front post

sc=single crochet

sl st=slip stitch

Special Stitches used in the crochet leaf square:

TrFP: {This will be worked 2 rows below} yo 2x, insert hook from right to left behind post of dc, yo, pull through 2 loops, yo, pull through 2 loops, yo, pull through final 2 loops.

  • Ch 3 counts as a stitch
  • All TrFP will be worked two rows below the current row you are on
