About the Patty Pig-The Crochet Pig Free Pattern

Patty Pig is the perfect blend of cute and practical. She keeps your feet warm and toasty while adding a bit of barnyard fun to your crochet projects. Her soft pink snout and floppy ears make her an instant favorite among the herd.

This free crochet pig pattern can easily be customized by changing the color of your yarn, adding eyelashes, or even giving Patty a bow for a bit of extra flair!

Like all of the Fun Feetie Warmers, Patty features a comfy fit with a little stretch, making them perfect for lounging, gifting, or even turning into a fun animal pillow by using a 12” pillow insert in the Child Large or Adult Size! YES, she does double duty! What fun!

Suggested Yarns:

This crochet pig warmer was originally made with Joann’s Big Twist Posh. Here are some substitutes according to YarnSub and my testers:

  • Michael’s is carrying Posh Purl, with limited colors (which is supposed to be Joann’s Big Twist Posh)
  • Michael’s Charisma
  • King Cole Yummy
  • Premier Basix Chunky (which isn’t a plush but still warm and soft)
  • Swish Bulky
  • Premier Parfait Chunky (a plush, but a #6-you may have to use a smaller hook size)
  • Paintbox Chenille

Gauge:

10 hdc x 7 rows = 4”

Skill Level:

Easy to Intermediate – You’ll use basic stitches like single crochet, half double crochet, and a bit of shaping and sewing for the snout and ears. If you’ve made any of the other Fun Feeties, you’ll feel right at home!

Helpful Hints When Making Your Crochet Pig Foot Warmer:

  1. Pin pieces in place on the warmer before sewing.
  2. Slide a piece of cardboard inside warmer while sewing on pieces.
  3. Increase the number of rows before the 3rd loop rows to make the warmer longer. Ideally it should end above the ankles of the recipient.
  4. Using an invisible join will help hide the slanted “seam”. Find a tutorial here:
