US G (4mm) Furls hook, or size needed to obtain gauge
Tapestry needle

Pattern Instructions:
Leaves:
Rnd 1: With green, using MR, ch 4, 11 tr in ring, pull to close, sl st top of ch 4 [12]
Rnd 2: *ch 10, dc 3rd ch from hook, dc next 3, tr next 4, sk st on main circle, sl st next st; rep from * 5 more times with final sl st in beginning st [6 leaves] Fasten off.
Flowers:
Rnd 1: Leave long tail at beginning for sewing. With yellow, using MR, ch 3, 11 dc in ring, pull to close, sl st in top of ch 3 [12]
Rnd 2: Working in FL only, *ch 9, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc next, dc next 3, tr next 3, sk st on main circle, sl st next st: rep from * 5 more times, with final sl st in beginning st [6 petals]
Rnd 3: Working in BL of previous rnd, sl st next st, *ch 10, dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc next 3, tr next 4, sk 2 sts on main circle, sl st next st,; rep from * 3 more times, with final sl st in beginning st [4 petals] Fasten off. Weave ends.
Place poinsettia flower in desired position on top of leaves matching up the circles. Tack yellow circle of flowers to green circle of leaves.
Optional: Steam block the applique
The instructions below are for using this applique with the Every Day Wall Hanging
Using the leaves as a template, cut the plastic canvas slightly smaller. Sew section of metal snap with the nub facing up to the middle of the plastic canvas leaves shape. Sew plastic canvas to back of leaves with snap facing out.
