Special Stitches used in this crochet trees blanket strip
Ps {pineapple cluster stitch}: *yo, insert hook in st, yo, pull through* Rep between * 3 more times, yo, pull through the first 8 loops on your hook, yo, pull through the 2 remaining loops on hook. Make sure you keep your loops loose so you can pull through 8 easily.
Stacked Sc: (optional to replace the beginning ch 3) sc in first st, insert hook into the left loop of the sidebar, yo, pull through, yo over pull through 2 loops {essentially creating a second sc on top of the first, mimicking the height of a dc}
Notes:
- Ch 3 counts as a stitch
- 18 stitch multiple = 10 “trees” made
Helpful Hints:
Using a stacked single crochet instead of a chain 3 will help keep your end row neat and even.

Crochet Trees Blanket Strip Inspiration
This crochet trees blanket strip was inspired by quiet walks through the Cleveland Metroparks in Ohio. Red and White Oaks, American Elms, Sycamores, Buckeyes, and more line winding trails, and the air smells clean and fresh. A lovely solitude visit, a picnic with family, or a leisurely hike with the dogs, there’s something for everyone. You can even relish the beauty without even leaving your car, an especially beautiful drive in the fall season. After one such visit, it translated into crochet, capturing the calm beauty of my Cuyahoga Valley Blanket Strip.
Cleveland Metroparks History
The Cleveland Metropolitan Park District is the oldest in Ohio. In 1917, a young, self-taught engineer, William Stinchcomb, thought of the idea of an outer chain of parks with connecting boulevards. It took several years before enough funds were raised and the plans were made. But eventually, a continuous parkway encircling Cuyahoga County was created. By 1930, Cleveland Museum of Natural History created an outdoor education program in the parks. Nature and wildflower trails, and museums were built, causing adults and children alike to flock to the area to enjoy nature hikes and programs.
