Many of my followers know, my heart during the day belongs to my day job at the non-profit, Wigs For Kids. Calling all crocheters for charity! I’m thrilled to combine my passion for crochet with a cause that’s close to my heart. This organization provides beautiful, custom hairpieces for children experiencing medical hair loss. For all crocheters who share a love for giving back, here’s an invitation: by donating just a dollar or more, you can help make a difference and, as a thank you, receive a free crochet pattern from me. Join in, and let’s crochet for a cause that truly matters!

Backstory on Wigs For Kids
Wigs For Kids, a non-profit organization dedicates it’s time to providing high-quality, custom-made hairpieces to children who experience hair loss due to medical conditions such as cancer treatments, alopecia, trichotillomania, burns, and other health-related causes. Founded in 1981, the organization has a mission to help children regain their confidence and self-esteem by creating wigs that look natural, are comfortable to wear, and can withstand the active lifestyles of kids.
Each hairpiece provided by Wigs For Kids is carefully crafted from donated human hair and tailored specifically to the child’s head for a realistic, secure fit. The organization covers all costs. Families never have to pay for these hairpieces, allowing them to focus on supporting their child’s health and well-being. Through donations, volunteer support, and fundraising efforts, Wigs For Kids continues to make a meaningful impact, empowering children to look and feel like themselves again.
Each hairpiece costs about $1800. Many of our children have alopecia, which means continued hair loss. We provide these free of charge each year a child needs one funded by generous donors like you. Our goal for the Many of Faces of Joy campaign is to raise $30,000 or more to help with these costs.
How this charity drive will work and how you can be crocheters for charity
My part in the charity drive ran from November 18-30, 2024. The Many Faces of Joy campaign itself is still running through December. If you donate, send me a copy of your invoice, and I will still gift you the pattern for my Christmas Joy Garland shown below.

Anyone who donates, will receive my Christmas Joy Garland Pattern shown above.
