This Crossed Double Crochet Section Features in the Homeward Bound Mosaic Blanket CAL

The Homeward Bound Mosaic Blanket featuring house/tree, mountains, and bird/clouds mosaic sections interspersed with rose colored textured crochet sections.

This crochet blanket strip is the second section in the Homeward Bound Mosaic Blanket CAL. Running from January 27-March 3, this free CAL features overlay mosaic sections and textured stitches sections. Each Monday a new section is released with the final envelope border being released on the final week. Read all about the CAL below.

Crossed Double Crochet Blanket Strip Instructions

Gauge: 

16 sts x 12 rows = 4”

Size:

Section is 10″ wide and 48″ long

Special Stitch:

Crossed Dc: sk next st, yo, dc in next st, yo, insert hook into the skipped stitch, yo, finish as a dc

Abbreviations Used:

ch = chain

dc = double crochet

rep = repeat

sk = skip

st = stitch

Notes:

Color C is “Rose”.

Section 2’s first row will continue from the last row of Section 1.

Ch 3 counts as a stitch

Pattern instructions for the Crossed Double Crochet Section

The instructions below are for adding this to the Homeward Bound Mosaic Blanket. You will be adding this strip directly to the first section. At the end of Row 31 of Section 1, you will change to Color C (Rose). Then you will turn your work. You will continue to turn your work each row until you start the next mosaic section.

If you wanted to create this strip for use in another blanket, you would need a foundation double crochet row before starting the directions. Do Row 32 for your 2nd row, and then repeat this row for your desired number of rows.

Row 32: With Color C, ch 3, *sk next st, dc in next st, dc in skipped st: rep from * across, turn

Rows 33-51: Rep Row 32, At the end of Row 51, you will change to Color D in preparation for the next section. Do not fasten off.
