Materials Used For This Free Bulky Crochet Basket:

#5 Cotton/Cotton Blend Bulky- Color A 155 yds, Color B 25 yds

I used Premier Cotton Fair Bulky {153 yds/140 m/3.5 oz/100 g}

US K Hook (6.5 mm)

Tapestry needle for weaving ends

Yarn Substitutions:

Loops & Threads Bulky Twist is a good substitute

You could also substitute a #6 Bulky {Your basket will just be somewhat bigger}

Gauge:

Base- 6 rows = 4” diameter x 12 dc = 4”

Helpful Hints When Making your Free Bulky Crochet Basket:

1. Use of plastic canvas can help make your basket sturdier.
2. If you would like to make your basket taller, repeat Rounds 11-12 until desired height before switching to Color B to finish last two rows.
3. Anchor your FPdc to avoid leaving the flap. When working the hdc rows, insert your hook in the stitch and the stitch leftover from the front post. Check out the video below.
