The Inspiration for Fun Feetie Warmers
The inspiration for these Fun Feetie Warmers came from seeing a warmer for the feet on social media. I had a “What If” moment. What if I made a warmer out of soft, warm yarn and put animal faces on them for fun. I started with the Dog, and the animals just started running rampant from there.
Each warmer comes in 3 sizes-Teen/Adult One Size, Child Size Small-fits 4-7 year olds, Child Size Large-fits 8-11 year olds. Also, the lengths can be adjusted by subtracting or adding rows. Meant to be roomy widthwise, they ideally should button above the ankles.

Yarn and Supplies Needed for Fun Feetie Warmers
These warmers were originally made with Big Twist Posh from Joann’s before they closed their doors and made so many crafters cry, including me. It’s a #5 Bulky Plush Yarn. Michael’s now carries Posh Purl, which is their version of the Big Twist Posh. Each warmer averages 150-250 yds.
While a plush-type yarn is recommended, here are some other good plush and non-plush subsitutes:
- King Cole Yummy
- Michael’s Charisma
- Premier Basix Chunky (which isn’t a plush but still warm and soft)
- Swish Bulky
- Premier Parfait Chunky (a plush, but a #6-you may have to use a smaller hook size)
- Paintbox Chenille
If you are worried about it turning out the correct size, be sure to do a gauge swatch first, especially if you are trying a #6 bulky.
Other Supplies Needed
US K Hook (6.5 mm)
Tapestry needle for sewing
Stitch Markers
Small Amount Polyfil Stuffing
Toggle button or other large button
Straight Pins-for pinning pieces while sewing (optional)
Piece of cardboard/book or magazine-for sliding inside warmer while sewing pieces (optional)
How The Fun Feetie Warmers Work
Fun Feetie Warmers are like a cozy hug for your toes! Just slide both feet inside, pull the warmer up past your ankles, and button them snug to keep all that toasty warmth in. Once they’re on, give your feet a little wiggle and smile!
