#5 Bulky {I used Bernat Maker-250 g/8.8 oz, 290 m/317 yds}

Color A {Cream} 110 yds, Color B {Jam} 140 yds

US J Hook (6 mm)

Abbreviations Used {US Terms}:

Rnd = Round

MR = magic ring

dc = double crochet

Inc = Increase {2 dc in same st}

ch = chain

sl st = slip stitch

st(s) = stitch(es)

BLO = back loop only

BLOsc = back loop only single crochet

FLOdc = front loop only double crochet

sc = single crochet

sk = skip

yo = yarn over

Notes:

• ch 2 in the bottom of the basket does not count as a stitch.
• ch 1 in the mosaic rounds do not count as a stitch

Helpful Hints when making your mosaic crochet basket:

1. As this basket is made in the round, you will not need to fasten off after each round of the mosaic section. You will pick up each color as you need it.
2. Each Mosaic round will be 2 repeats of the chart.
3. Using an invisible join will help keep the seam less noticeable.

Bottom of Basket:

Rnd 1: With Color B, using MR, 12 dc in ring, pull to close, sl st in beg st to join [12]

Rnd 2: ch 2, Inc in each st around, join as before [24]

Rnd 3: ch 2, dc in next, Inc in next st around, join [36]

 Rnd 4: ch 2, Inc in next st, dc in next 2 sts around, join [48]

Rnd 5: ch 2, dc in next 3 sts, Inc in next st around, join [60]

Rnd 6: ch 2, Inc in next st, dc in next 4 sts around, join [72]

Rnd 7: ch 2, dc in next 5 sts, Inc in next st around, join [84]

Rnd 8: ch 2, Inc in next st, dc in next 6 sts around, join, changing to Color A in last yo [96]

Rnd 9: ch 1, working in BLO, sc in each st around, join You will now start the mosaic section with Rnds 10-32 basket side correlating with Rnds 1-23 of the chart below.

Rnds 10-32: Follow 1-23 of the mosaic chart.

Rnd 33: With Color B, ch 1, working in BLO, sc next 18 sts, ch 12, sk 12 sts, sc in next 36 sts, ch 12, sk 12 sts, sc in last 18 sts, sl st in beg st, join. Fasten off. Weave in the ends.

Rnd 34: ch 2, dc in each st and ch around, sl st in be st, join. Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
